Import/Export Specialist
The Import/Export Specialist will work on the US Operations Team and report to the Trade Compliance & Transportation Manager. This person will ensure compliance with import and export laws for the US and Canadian Businesses.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with Canadian Customs or US Customs and FDA regulations, including HTS validation, origin validation, and value reconciliation.Vendor management of customs brokers and freight forwarders for daily operations and periodic business reviews.Timely review and approval of entry packets and brokerage invoices.Manage recordkeeping for shipping documents and entry packets.Collect, evaluate, and present data analytics on KPIs for international and domestic logistics to understand trends and identify continuous process improvement opportunities.Support CTPAT program maintenance through business partner screening, risk assessments, regular process audits, cargo flow map updates, and updates to the written procedures.Lead internal training on various trade compliance topics.
Education and Experience Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Demonstrate an analytical and solutions-driven approach.Experience with US Customs and CTPAT preferred.Experience with FDA is not required but a plus.Certified Customs Specialist or Licensed Customs Brokerage is not required but is a plus.
